Tours

Due to hygiene regulations, visitor tours cannot be offered at this time.

School classes (and kindergarten groups)

Teachers or accompanying adults pay €19.00 admission.

For every 20 pupils/kindergarten children*, one accompanying adult gets free admission.

FAQ

How do I get tickets?

To visit GONDWANA – Das Praehistorium, you need to book a ticket and an appointment, available at our online-ticketing-system.

Is it required to be tested?

No, the mandatory tests for museums have been abolished.

Do I have to wear a mask?

Yes, during your whole stay, it is mandatory for wear medical facemasks for every person aged 6 and up.

Is the museum suited for children of all ages?


The recommended age for a visit to the museum is 6 years and above, since younger children could easily get overwhelmed by the very realistic displays inside the museum. Please remember all tickets purchased are non-refundable. So please be sure before purchasing your tickets.

Can I access the museum with a wheelchair or a pram/stroller?


Yes, the whole building is accessible by wheelchair, pram, or stroller.

Is a visit influenced by the weather?

No, since all of our attractions are indoors.

Can I reserve tickets?


You can book an appointment by phone (+49 6821 931 63 25) or e-mail (info@praehistorium.de). You can purchase tickets only through our online-ticketing-system.

What methods of payment can I use on location?

We accept cash, debit cards and credit cards such as VISA, MasterCard, V Pay and Maestro Card. For cash-payments we cannot accept bills higher than 100 €.

Can I visit the museum with a group?

Groups are always welcome, but please remember to book your visit in advance, and in case of school groups, to bring a document that certifies the enrolment.

Do you offer guided tours?

Due to the current safety-regulations, we do not offer guided tours at the moment.

Are there audio-tours?

We offer free audio-tours and translations through QR-codes that you can access with your smartphone. Available in English, French, and German.

How much time do I need to visit the museum?


For one walk-through you should plan on needing about 3 hours of time to really see everything.

Can I walk through the museum several times?


Yes, your ticket is automatically valid for the whole day. But remember, that the last possibility to enter the museum is 2 hours before closing time!

How long can I stay at the museum?


The only limit is our closing time. But remember that the last possibility to enter the museum is 2 hours before closing time and the last possibility to watch the dinosaur-show is half an hour before closing time.

Is it allowed to film and take photos inside of the museum?


Yes, you are allowed to film and take photos for private purposes with a few restrictions: Please do not film the movies, and please turn off the flash while taking photos during the shows or of the live animals! To film and take photos for commercial purposes, please contact our management for a permit at info@praehistorium.de.

Can children visit the museum on their own?


Everyone under the age of 18 must always be accompanied by an adult while they walk through the museum.

Can I bring my dog?


It is not allowed to bring any kind of pet.

Can I bring my own food and drinks and have a picnic?


In our museum, it is not allowed to have food or drinks. We do have a restaurant on location, so you can purchase food and drinks there and have them at our restaurant or our play-area; however, here too, it is not allowed to bring your own food and drinks.

At what age can my child play at Gondi’s Dinowelt?


Our play-area is suited for children aged 3-12. There is a small toddler-area for children up to 3 years of age and a big area for the older children.

Can my children visit Gondi’s Dinowelt on their own?


Children can only visit the play-area accompanied by an adult.

Do you have a cloakroom?

Due to the current hygiene-regulations, we currently cannot offer our lockers. There are open coat racks available for use in our entrance area. No liability for items left at the coat racks.

Do you sell gift vouchers?


Yes, only available on location at our ticket counter, we currently do not offer this option online. To redeem a voucher, it is currently necessary to book an appointment (either by phone or e-mail).

Travelling by car

BAB 8 federal motorway: Leave the BAB 8 at the Neunkirchen-City 23 exit • On the B 41, follow the signs for Ottweiler/St. Wendel • After the Sinnerthal roundabout, head for Landsweiler • You can reach the BAB 8 federal motorway when approaching from the BAB 1 by heading for Neunkirchen/ Zweibrücken at the Saarbrücken junction. When travelling via the BAB 623, head for Neunkirchen at the Friedrichsthal junction.

Travelling by train

The journey from Saarbrücken central station to Landsweiler-Reden takes around 20 minutes. The entrance is about 15 minutes’ walk from the station.
